Photoshoot Tips

Congratulations on booking your photoshoot! I am so thrilled to be able to serve you with the session you’ve been hoping for! Your photoshoot will be customized to fit your comfort level. Feeling nervous? Not sure what to wear? Below are a few tips to help your shoot go as smoothly as possible. I will be with you every step of the way, and will make sure you’re feeling comfortable. Please feel free to reach out with any questions big or small!

Tip #1: Clothing

When choosing outfits, neutral, solid colors such as beige, grey, sage, and navy always look great! Patterns can look busy. Avoid logos if possible. I offer all clients complimentary styling consultation, which means I’m here to help! I’m happy to send outfit suggestions, or even if you’re waffling between two outfits and want to send me a photo for input, I’m happy to help!

Tip #2: Posing

Don’t worry if you feel awkward in front of the camera! I will help gently guide and pose you so that you feel comfortable. All you have to do is show up and be yourself, I will do the rest. When you are happy and relaxed, you’ll have a great photo experience and it will show!

Tip #3: Children

I specialize in high energy kiddos and their families. It’s okay if they get fussy! We will take our time and if they need a break or a snack, we will take it! I have two small children of my own, and am well-versed in the art of the toddler meltdown! (This is a photo of my son, Kayden, to prove it.)

Pro tips on how to make your children laugh or smile: small toys, songs, bubbles, and even mom-approved snacks are a tried and true fix! (Wheels On The Bus is always a fan favorite, but if you have others, it can help make the shoot a success!) Don’t worry if they are excited and want to play; let them have fun! Those beautiful candid smiles make for great photos!

Most importantly: BREATHE.

This shoot is for YOU! To capture you and your family and create everlasting memories. You don’t have to do anything more than show up and be yourself; I will do the rest!
